Online discussion about the heresy of universalism reminded me (a former Unitarian-Universalist turned Orthodox Christian Priest) of this modest reflection (uncorrected proof pages attached) on the issue as it related to St. Maximus the Confessor and his translator John Scottus Eriugena in the pre-Schism West.
