We greet our Risen Lord this Paschal season in Orthodoxy, looking forward also to the Ascension and Pentecost. Please check out the reflection linked below about Orthodox Pascha and the Paschal Season in the Orthodox Church by my friend and journalistic great John Kass, a Greek Orthodox Christian writer of renown in Chicago. When I first converted to Orthodoxy, after a career in Chicago journalism, John, then a columnist at the Chicago Tribune, welcomed me joyously with instructions on how to rotisserie lamb for Pascha! Many know his writings, which reflect the best of Chicago and probe its worst, and reflect much on tradition in relation to current events from an Orthodox Christian cultural worldview (although not always explicitly referencing Orthodoxy). It is well worth following his writing online if you are interested in concerns of traditional Christianity in modern American life, and if you crave a sane and wise voice in current-day journalism, glory to God! In this reflection he also references your unworthy scribe, the sinner asking for your prayers as always. Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!
