Near its beginning, the Wisdom of Sirach states as translated from the Septuagint:

Wisdom was created before all things
    and prudent understanding from eternity.

This is understood in Orthodox Christianity not as a statement that Christ, the Wisdom of God, is created.

Rather it can be understood as referring to secondary created wisdom, or even be inexactly descriving Divine Wisdom as before all things.
