For the past several years, our mission in Northern Appalachia has helped to support the philanthropic works of an Orthodox community in East Africa.
This was the article that inspired our modest monthly support: https://orthochristian.com/81744.html
Fr. Mark Mwangi, pastor of three Orthodox communities in Kenya, and his wife Presvytera Alice Mwangi, for several years have been running a charity for poor children and orphans in need. Based at Three Hierarchs parish in the Kenya-Nairobi Archdiocese (Patriarchate of Alexandria), in Loitoktok, on the Kenya-Tanzania border, their work helps provide food and other necessities for children in need, including some who are HIV positive or with other medical needs.
One day they would like to have an orphanage built there, but currently children live in separate homes and are provided with support there, with Presvytera visiting them regularly.
Here are photos and brief profiles (without last names) of children, provided by Presvytera Alice this Nativity Season. Please if you can include them in your prayers. Financial donations also will help to support them. To help, please go to our PayPal link, and make a note in the comment section that the donation is for the Kenyan Children’s Charity. Thank you and glory to God!
