MOLEBEN OF THANKSGIVING For Petitions Granted and for Every Favour from God

Reader: Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us, Amen.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Thrice.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord, blot out our sins. O Master, pardon our iniquities. O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Thy name’s sake.
Lord have mercy. Thrice.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, Who art in the Heavens, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God have mercy on us, Amen.
Lord, have mercy. Twelve times.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O come, let us worship God our King.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King and God.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and God.

Psalm 117
O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Let the house of Israel now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Let the house of Aaron now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Let all that fear the Lord now say that He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Out of mine affliction I called upon the Lord, and He heard me and brought me into a broad place.
The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
The Lord is my helper, and I shall look down upon mine enemies.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man.
It is better to hope in the Lord than to hope in princes.
All the nations compassed me round about, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off.
Surrounding me they compassed me, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off.
They compassed me about like unto bees around a honeycomb, and they burst into flame like a fire among the thorns, and by the name of the Lord I warded them off.
I was pushed and overturned that I might fall, and the Lord was quick to help me.
The Lord is my strength and my song, and He is become my salvation.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous.
The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength, the right hand of the Lord hath exalted me, the right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength.
I shall not die, but live, and I shall tell of the works of the Lord.
With chastisement hath the Lord chastened me, but He hath not given me over unto death.
Open unto me the gates of righteousness; I will enter therein and give thanks unto the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord, the righteous shall enter in thereat.
I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast heard me and art become my salvation.
The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner.
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad therein.
O Lord, save now; O Lord, send now prosperity. Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
We have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. God is the Lord, and hath appeared unto us.
Ordain a feast with thick boughs, even unto the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I will confess Thee;
Thou art my God, and I will exalt Thee. I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast heard me, and Thou art become my salvation.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to Thee, O God. Thrice.

Troparia of Thanksgiving
And this Troparion of Thanksgiving, in Tone IV —
Glorifying Thee, O Lord, we Thine unworthy servants, * grateful for Thy great benefits which Thou hast bestowed upon us, * do praise, bless, give thanks, hymn, and magnify Thy loving-kindness, * and with submissive love cry aloud to Thee: * O our Benefactor and Saviour, glory to Thee!
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Another Troparion of Thanksgiving, in Tone III —
O Master Who hast freely vouchsafed Thy benefits and gifts * unto Thine unprofitable servants, * to Thee hastening fervently we offer thanksgiving according to our strength, * and glorifying Thee as Benefactor and Creator, we cry aloud: * Glory to Thee, O Most Compassionate God.
Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Theotokion, in Tone III —
O Theotokos, the helper of Christians, * we, thy servants, having acquired thy protection, * thankfully cry aloud to thee: * Rejoice, O most pure Virgin Theotokos! * And from all misfortune do thou through thine intercessions always deliver us, * O thou who alone art a speedy protectress.

THE EPISTLE
Deacon: Wisdom!
Reader: The Reading from the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Ephesians.
Deacon: Let us attend.
Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Ephesians,
§229 [5:8b-21]
Reader: Brethren: Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them, for it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light, for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Therefore He saith: “Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

THE HOLY GOSPEL
Holy Gospel according to Luke,
§85 [17:12-19]
At that time, as Jesus entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ And when He saw them, He said unto them, ‘Go, show yourselves unto the priests.’ And it came to pass that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.’ And He said unto him, ‘Arise; go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole.’
Chanters: Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to thee.

HYMN OF ST AMBROSE
We praise Thee, O God: we acknowledge Thee to be the Lord. * All the earth doth magnify Thee, the Father everlasting.
To Thee all angels, the heavens, and all the hosts * the Cherubim and Seraphim, with unceasing voices cry:
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabaoth; * heaven and earth are full of the majesty of Thy glory.
The glorious choir of the apostles. the laudable company of the prophets, * the radiant army of martyrs praise Thee.
The holy Church throughout all the world doth acknowledge Thee: * the Father: of infinite majesty; * Thine adorable, true, and Only-begotten Son; * and the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.
Thou art the King of Glory, O Christ. * Thou art the Everlasting Son of the Father.
In taking upon Thee the redemption man, * Thou didst not disdain to be born of a virginal womb.
When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death, * Thou didst open the Kingdom of Heaven to them that believe.
Thou sittest at the right hand of God, in the glory of the Father. * We believe that Thou shalt come to be our Judge.
We therefore pray Thee, help thy servants, whom thou hast redeemed with Thy precious Blood. * Vouchsafe them to reign with thy Saints in glory everlasting.
Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless thine inheritance, * guide them aright, and raise them up for ever.
Unto length of days we bless Thee, * and we praise Thy name for ever, and unto the ages of ages.
Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without sin. * Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us.
Let thy mercy O Lord, be upon us, * according as we have hoped in Thee.
In Thee O Lord, have I hoped: let me not be put to shame * in the age to come. Amen.

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us, Amen.
